Wisdom begins in a crowd

In 2005, a columnist at the New Yorker, James Surowiecki, wrote a ground-breaking and influential book –  The Wisdom of Crowds – the posed the question, ‘Why are the many smarter than the few?’ He wrote:

‘Diversity and independence are important because the best collective decisions are the product of disagreement and contest, not consensus or compromise.’

We agree with James.
